    Vertical chases

Of course I will liaise with electrician, the whole ground floor is on one ring, latest code I read now says a separate ring for kitchen is now the norm due to amount of appliances etc being use and as I have already had extra sockets installed in living room and thus expending the ring thought...

    Vertical chases

The whole room needs skimming which is my preferred rather than plasterboard dot and dab as the room is only 2.5m wide so every mm is important, I will chase the walls down to 30mm and back box cut outs 35mm so the electrician can use 20mm oval conduit, then fill to level with bonding plaster...

    Door jigs

Question on door handle fitting jigs, can any explain why on most jigs the spindle bore is 44mm when it only has to be big enough to accommodate the spindle. Such a big spindle bore of 44mm limits what handle design you can have plus gives less support for the latch. Am I missing something.

So, I have plasterboarded the window reveals and fitted the angle beads ready for plasterer to come in and skim the whole living room and ceiling, am now fitting the window board, which is 25mm bullnosed MDF, however the...

Anyone know where I can get

Anyone know where I can get 28mm wide x 3mm deep x 2100m stripwood Reason this size is because I am having the living room skimed and want this to stick on door frames so plasterer can skim too and once skimed can put new architrave on. I thought this size of stripwood would be readily...

What are the finer details on holes in joists

..... Are smaller 6.5mm diameter holes allowable or is any size hole not allowed. I have this speaker cable: to run across ceiling that is going to be overboarded as part of a bigger project to cover a non-asbestos textured ceiling. There will be 4 runs to each corner of living room and...
