The old one is 3 pins and the new one is 8.

We have bought a new halo thermostat for our boiler as the old one stopped working. Pulled off the old plate to install the new one but the link wire plug is different. Where do I go from here? Is there an adapter you can buy or does it need to be re-wired?

Yes. Also I have read that the thermostat is meant to come with a gateway but we don’t have one. So now I’m even more confused on how the engineer connected it in the first place.

We have a Ideal logic thermostat & boiler, we have never had a problem with pairing them up when it’s time for a battery change. This time however it refuses to to connect to the boiler. We have tried everything and now I’m cold and at a loss on what to do. All the relevant lights are lit up in...
