I'm interested in replacing the cladding on the front of my house with what I believe are called brick "slips" cladding, the original cladders scored the underlying brick for keying purposes, hence the need to reclad. (The original cladding is that horrible yellow Corrie style stuff) Can...

    Lintel for new window

The window I'm taking out is a UPVC one, mentioned sash to give an idea of the size. Anyway what's so hot about the old sash windows, they stuck in the summer, were generally allways a pig to open, rattled with the wind and gave mega condensation in the winter. Not one of the traditional...

"Think kev is trying to point out that muck gets caught in the seating of this valve and stops it from sealing properly...do all you can to try not to have to use this valve" I see your point. I thought that perhaps I hadn't put the right name to the valve. Will it be OK to let the system...

I was refering to the safety relief valve with spring loaded hand turn knob. Venting isn't straining it mechanically, half turn vents the pressure. RH

    Cable Specs

Recently I have bought some 2.5mm twin and earth to add some sockets to my ring main. The cable grey outer covering has a 2.5 marking on it however when I strip to copper and check the diameter with a vernier I get a reading of just under 2mm. Is this similar to joinery where wood is bought as...
