Options for trimming internal doors beyond the lipping

Hi all, I'm installing solid core half glazed double doors in my lounge, they are 610mm wide (11mm lipping all round) and i need to come down to 584mm per door, inclusive of the 10mm pair maker I have to attach on one door. Not sure what my best approach is here. I was thinking I could take...

    Trimming Internal Oak Finished Doors

That's a good idea with the door holder, i might do the same as i'll have a few to do too! Yes, i'll probably be doing the same, installing them over a lengthy time period. I just have one set that'll use the double glazed door like that, the rest will be plain cottage style, seems that you...

    Trimming Internal Oak Finished Doors

Hi all, I'm planning on fitting new internal oak doors throughout my house, as a time/effort saving (although more costly), I was going to get fully finished doors. How does that work if I'm needing to trim the doors, do i just treat the cuts ends alone? Or do you not trim fully finished...

    Improvement suggestions?

Hi mate, thanks very much! That's a useful video! The patio area will mainly be for relaxing/socialising. I keep the table and chairs there. I'll start with cleaning off the slabs and see how it goes from there

    Improvement suggestions?

Hi folks, Wondering if people could give me some inspiration with ideas of how to improve my back garden patio/path area. I had considered decking over the patio but I'm not sure if it would be worth it. The whole area needs a tidy and pressure washing. What about the gaps in the slabs that...

Outside light spurred off car charger?

Hi all, I'm planning on sticking up an outside light just outside my garage door, I'm attaching a picture of the inside. My EV charger is wired in here, I was thinking I could just take a spur off the JB for the charger. Might be a bit rough, but is there any technical issues with that? Would...

    Sagging sarking boards

Hi mate, i was told i could remove it if i want (and/or put some new boards up with battons. It does serve as a bit of insulation from the elements so maybe is worth doing. Ultimately, i had some water coming in which had caused the boards to sag over he years. Cheers

Correct way to join electrical cables in a wall

Thanks all! I've had a look at safe zones and will follow that. I'll join the cable inside the old back box, fit a blank and leave it accessible. Cheers!

Correct way to join electrical cables in a wall

Hi all, I'm needing to move an electrical socket about 1-2 meters in my living room. I was intending on joining the cable in the cavity of the original socket then, as its not needed, covering/plastering over it. The join will be inaccessible when finished. What's the best (correct?) way to...

    Fitting uPVC cable conduit connector

Hi guys...just needing a bit of a sanity check here. I bought 20mm plastic conduit and 20mm T boxes & elbows. Should those fit together??? I'm trying to get the conduit inside the connector, they both seem like exactly the same size! Photo attached. Am I doing something wrong? How do I join...

Remove uPVC door with broken lock

Well I've got the hinges off and can move the door around but it's still stuck in place because of the multi point lock. There's a hook top and bottom that engages when locked. Photo attached (same back door on my house). Actually I can't see how you'd get the door out the frame or the...

Remove uPVC door with broken lock

Yeah I'll maybe just need to get a new set of hinges. I went ahead and drilled the cover and was able to get them off. I'll try removing the hinge screws now and see if I can get the door off. My only worry is that the multi point lock has a couple of hook type bolts when it's locked.

Remove uPVC door with broken lock

I think this is a pretty similar hinge. So I think maybe I'll need to take a shot are drilling where the screw might be.

Remove uPVC door with broken lock

I tried wedging it up with a chisel but its not budging. I'm assuming there's a screw on the other side.

Remove uPVC door with broken lock

I think they're just for adjustment. I think the fix in fixed into the frame side part of the hinge then the door drops down on to it, it doesn't look like the pin comes out unfortunately.
