Hi all,

I'm planning on sticking up an outside light just outside my garage door, I'm attaching a picture of the inside. My EV charger is wired in here, I was thinking I could just take a spur off the JB for the charger.

Might be a bit rough, but is there any technical issues with that? Would I need to fuse the spur for the light?

Cheers

It is prohibited to do that.

The rules for car charging points are complex, much depends on what is in the EV connection pod, but can't share a RCD with other items in the installation so very likely you can't take a supply from the JB, but to be 100% sure one would need to know a lot more about the install.

Decided to just run it back to the lighting circuit...it wasn't too complicated in the end! Cheers
