Inside the cabinet where my fuse box is located there is a fused spur which feeds an alarm control panel. The fused spur is connected to a 6A MCB, there is nothing else connected to the MCB.

I want to run 1 single socket ( located inside the cabinet ) and 1 double socket ( located outside the cabinet ) from the fused spur.

The sockets would be used for a telephone charger and two small lamps.

Havn't got round to looking yet but I assume the fuse in the spur is 3A.

Does this contravene any regulations.

Any advice, better solutions most appreciated.

It should be OK, provided each socket is labelled as "Max 6 amps only", and is run straight from the B6 breaker - if on the ground floor - it must be off the RCD side of the board,. Use 1.5.mm cable for each socket (can handle 16 amps max), in case someone tries to swap it for a B16 breaker.

The best would be to run a separate circuit for the sockets if possible.

If not possible I would create a radial circuit using 2.5mm2 T & E cable and 20A MCB (in place of the 6A MCB). The FCU will be part of this radial. I would connect the alarm to the load side of the FCU and change the 13A fuse in the FCU to 3A.
