    Newel Post removal

Thanks for the response big-all. What I am on about is that the newel that is in is sectional with the bottom being 90mm, then a turned middle section, then the ball on the top. From the fusion instructions, even if I remove just from the turned section up, there is not enough left from...

    Newel Post removal

Well, after a google I think I found the answer from AWBCM - it is a no  so my next problem - what to do? They are sectional newel posts as well so are already hollowed out as I thought about making the Fusion Newel there a bit longer and trimming the bolt to length taking account of...

Hi Blagard, can't get my head round the bit above - could you clarify please. Would the mortor in the rest of the wall be an issue with it being soft as it is retaining? Cheers L

    Blown Engineer bricks

Hi All, We have an outside wall - part retaining as house is lower than the road, and it is topped off with red engineering brick - ie smooth and slightly glazed - laid on their side. They are not solid. Our neighbour has the same. I noticed the other day a large number of these bricks...

    Alpha CB50 - Help - before I take a hammer to it!!!

Thanks for your replies guys. I will have a stab at fitting a Magnaclean to the system - on the return I believe but will have to wait until after holidays in a week though - but while it is still mild if it takes me much longer. That can still be used with the new system - in fact will get...

    Alpha CB50 - Help - before I take a hammer to it!!!

Hi Tony, we have had a whole list of issues with the boiler - the worst (as such - dec 27th - subzero in the daytime - it was personally bad even though it was a frozen overflow pipe). I go away a lot for work - both in the UK and abroad, and my wife is as technical as a rock and has no...

Alpha CD28C/Premier Pack and Gas Saver?

i have had nothing but problems with an Alpha CB50 - but if I hadn't and seen the post above by Alphaman - that would smack me as a bit of desperatism on somebodies behalf (sales down on his targets etc) and would put me right off. By the way - our Alpha was fitted by the builder Lawrenso

Please help with my central heating system.

I think that is your answer - I bet if you look on your bill your are being charged metric - (MI or M(cubed ie to the power of 3)), They have swapped you over to Metric billing without changing the meter. Go to an imperial->metric converter on the web and compare what a foot cubed is compared...

    Radiators hung on plasterboard?

[/url] Trouble with them is that if you need to remove them the toggle drops in - I have used the ones above myself for my radiators with no problems. The good thing is that even if you are limited in space (we have a pocket door in the wall), you tighten it up and then you can remove the...

    Alpha CB50 Boiler exploded today

What ward - the Psych one?? watching the patients  Mind you - I am getting tempted to jump ship on my work to get into your trade with figures like that being bandied about. I am use to complex systems working in IT and getting systems working together is a bit like getting sorting...

    Alpha CB50 Boiler exploded today

It is the boiler we are looking to be covered - this is what is giving us the problems. More than likely keep the rest with BG which you can have (we had BG try to remove the boiler earlier this year without notifying us - trying to leaving us with electrics and plumbing). Also the BG guy...
