Can I use a plastic tundish on an unvented cylinder?

Hi, Just had Brit Gas to do a check on my boiler and unvented water system for a maintenance contact, and they claim that it needs a tundish into a metal pipe rather than the current exit into an open plastic pipe. He told me what to do, and said I need a 300mm drop of 22mm copper pipe...

Unvented water system - hot pressure variable

Thanks for your feedback. I prefer to have views from someone else when I call in an engineer. I guess it could be a dirty filter, or because the cold feed isn't taken from after the pressure reducer. Does anyone have any suggestions of reputable engineers for unvented systems in SE...

Unvented water system - hot pressure variable

Thanks for your responses. It's worst at that shower, but unreliable everywhere. I just gave the kids a bath, and we have a thermostatic mixer tap, pretty much as soon as I turned the tap off, the hot feed felt freezing. Is that consistent with an unbalanced system? I will get someone in...

Unvented water system - hot pressure variable

Hi, I've got an Ariston unvented waterstorage sylinder, attached to a Worcester-Bosch gas boiler. Recently the hot water has been playing up, but I cant understand why. The boiler is firing up and heating the tank as expected, and sometimes the hot water comes out fine, other times it...

    Baxi 105E Luke warm water

I've been looking at the technical manual, and it looks pretty straight forward to replace the diaphragm to me. Could you let me kniow which of the following diaphragms it is I need to order, i assume it's the 3 way valve one ? The technical document I have doesnt show a part number for this...

    Baxi 105E Luke warm water

Thanks for the prompt response. As it's not been gradual, isnt scale unlikely? It literally stopped heating properly overnight. Is the diaphragm possible as a DIY job, i'm reasonably competent, or should I always leave boiler fixes to the experts.

    Baxi 105E Luke warm water

Hi, I have a 4 year old Baxi 105e and for the past couple of days wont heat the water up fully. Even with the water temp set at full, it only manages to heat the water up to luke warm. The lamps on the boiler indicate that all is OK, but the temp lamps dont go above 50c. It's...
