The boiler is an old Gloworm Hideaway (i think its a 50 or 70 model). It was serviced last month and found to be in good working order, but I forgot to ask the engineer about this problem. Sorry, that's about all I know about it. :roll:

When I turn my hot water on nothing happens....the only way iI can get the water to heat up is to have the central heating on at the same time, which as you can imagine is both expensive and also makes the house hot when all we want is a hot bath! Can anyone offer any words of advice? Is...

yeah....basically we have one button (no thermostat) which turns on the hot water and heating together... :( so when we want a bath or shower in the summer we have to have the heating on too ! :O nightmare !

My hot water tank is overflowing water from a pipe at the top of the tank and running through the pipe and out of my property at the rear. Someone told me it might be a pump that needs adjusting? does anyone know why this is happening?.....It drips out water everytime i turn on my heating/hot...

Hi, from my thread last night about fitting a new ceiling light in my daughters bedroom, (see further down this forum) I now have a 6 block to put all 9 wires into...which bit of the block does the "switch" wire go into as I have put black facing black,,red facing red etc...but still when I turn...

Thanks JohnD...so do you place all 6 wires(except earth) in the block (seperate terminals) and then what ? Do you just pull them out one by one to see which one operates the switch..which is the wire I am trying to locate?..Sorry I'm a bit thick when it comes to DIY (Like you havn't noticed)...

Hello again, thank you for the advice..I will have to buy a 4 block for the wires tomorrow as the new light only comes with a 3 block...I also have a multimeter at work so I will bring that home as well..hope I get it sorted tomorrow...daughter will just have to use bedside light for tonight :-/...

Just put three wires back into the new light and it works fine but won't switch off at the wall ! Arrgghh, how will I know which one is for the switch as I have 6 spare wires to choose from :-(

Hi, Thanks for the info. I managed to sort it in the end by buying a new router!. I tried everything including the factory re-set and nothing worked so I bought a new one and it worked as soon as I plugged it in. Must have been a dodgy router. Thanks for the information I appreciate it.

Could someone please help. When I get into my car, the temperature light comes on and the gauge goes up then back down then up again. also only cold air comes through the vents when i put the heating on. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you :cry:

I turned my electric shower on via the on/off pull cord as usual and then pressed the power button on the shower unit. But when the unit/shower is turned on the light on the pull cord switch goes off and the water is ice cold (not good at this time of year)!. Does anyone know what is going on ...
