    I have a Moeller 30mA 61008 RCD that trips out randomly sometimes immediately sometimes after a few days. It passes the 50% rated current test, but a ramp test shows it ripping at 21mA, this seems low to me, is this right?

    Mixing old and new colours

    For new installation work I know brown/blue colours have to be used, but when doing a re-wire is it still permissable to use existing cables, e.g. light switch cables in the wall that cannot be pulled out. I would like to use these to avoid chasing out the wall for a new cable.

    Moving consumer unit - best practice?

    I have to move a consumer unit about 5m from existing position. Most of the circuits will be extended from where they are to the new position. I would normally use a junction box with appropriate terminal blocks to connect the cables. Any suggestions on alternative methods gratefully received.

    Curved gutters

    I need to replace some metal gutters that have been fabricated by welding into a curve. I would like to replace these with PVC, but don't want to do it with lots of joining pieces, how feasible would it be to do this? Can PVC be 'welded'? Will the solvent for wastepipes work on PVC gutters...
