Boulter Classic 70/90 Riello burner oil fired

On further investigation when the timer initiates hot water the hot water motorised valve opens and boiler is triggered. Howvere, the radiators also gets warm so this leads me to suspect that the CH motorised valve is stuck open. Can someone confirm that diagnosis for me? Many thanks.

Boulter Classic 70/90 Riello burner oil fired

Looked at HW valve and it seems to operate correctly. CH valve seems to only partially open/close on some occasions. Suspect electrical signal is getting to the valve but the mechanical part of the valve is not responding correctly in the sense that it is not fully opening or closing as and...

Boulter Classic 70/90 Riello burner oil fired

Yes....... Both valves open and close on demand as requested. Just using the advance heating and hot water option on timer and will try the timed options on the timer to see if maybe that is what is faulty. Any other suggestions welcome.

Boulter Classic 70/90 Riello burner oil fired

Two motorised valves in system..one for hot water and one for central heating it looks like. Both, at first glance, seem to function when the hot water and then the central heating are initiated from the timer. Each valve moves and electronically trips when requested. Could it be that the...

Boulter Classic 70/90 Riello burner oil fired

Looked at "motorised valves" on Ebay and it all came flooding back to me....not literally thankfully. Replaced the motor in the valve a few years back. Many thanks for the prompt and helpful response. Will head to B&Q and see if I can pick up a motor or new valve. Can't remember whether it...

Why does everything break down on a Friday at 4.00pm!!! Boiler continues to function even if the timer says it must be off. Changed the timer and no difference. Boiler does switch off when mains power is switched off. Think we had similar problems a while back and will look through the...

    Shower panel, any good?

Steve - I have used the shower walls that you are looking at. Easier to install and certainly are lasting well. They have changed how you install them over the years - learning through experience I guess. I would recommend using as few pieces as possible. I used planks that were 6 feet high...

Gents, I am in need of your knowledge end experience again. We have an upstairs toilet that was in need of updating. The black plastic cistern I replaced some 5 years ago but the outlet waste pipes had definitely seen better days. She who must be obeyed wanted vinyl down on the floor...

Replacement for Acl Lifestyle 2-port motorised valve

Blast. Just asked my wife which valve the plumber said needed replacing and it's the ACL one. Ah well. Have to find a straight replacement or get the nuts and olives replaced as well. Nothing's ever simple is it. That Murphy's got a lot to answer for.

Replacement for Acl Lifestyle 2-port motorised valve

Thanks for the replies so far. I have already tried replacing the motor and suspect the system does need a good drain down and flush but the key question I have is this. Is the Honeywell V4043 a direct, and suitable replacement, for the ACL Lifestyle valve. Thanks Ken

Replacement for Acl Lifestyle 2-port motorised valve

I have two 2-port motorised valves in my heating system and one is definitely faulty. I have tried replacing the motor but no joy. It is a Honeywell V4043H1056 and are easily found on Ebay and the like. The system will need drained down and hence I would like to replace both valves at the...
