How to run suitable waste pipe to loo in log cabin

Whats the definition of a real one? Actually I am not sure if its a cess pit or a septic tank. Its buried, has a couple of manhole covers, and they have to pump it out annually or so. I have not been here a year yet so I was going to ask the pumping-guy exactly what it is. Anyway...

How to run suitable waste pipe to loo in log cabin

There is no vent stack mate...its a '30s bungalow, the soil pipe runs from under the bathroom floor outside into the drive, there is a manhole where presumably the drain from the sink joins it, and then it runs to the cess pit. This is all on the other side of the house BTW.

How to run suitable waste pipe to loo in log cabin

Cheers. Do you mean the same pipe that the sink drains into? If so, what about smells etc. Cheers.

How to run suitable waste pipe to loo in log cabin

Ok then, a 'wooden' cabin  And why do you think its a wind up? Lots of people have these garden offices, presumably a few of them have loos in them...

How to run suitable waste pipe to loo in log cabin

I am installing a log cabin in the garden and want to fit a loo in it. To run a new underground waste from the cabin to the cess pit would be a big job so I'm looking for an alternative. There is an existing outside drain close to the cabin but its the one the kitchen sink drains to and is...

Wall and floor tiling - which first

    >>whatever you do dont use fast setting stuff Cheers bud. I had to use some of this at a friends recently, like you say, a real pain, so have bought the normal adhesive. Much more suited to my tiling ability

Wall and floor tiling - which first

Don't worry, I figured it out :) Am going to get the uprights in place and tile up to them, definately looks right to get the cubicle supports directly onto the wall.

Wall and floor tiling - which first

Can I also ask, does it make any difference if I tile out a shower area before fitting the shower cubicle around it? Or should I wait until I fit the cubicle and THEN tile inside it?

Advice on pipe sizes to run to new shower?

I am trying to work out what size pipes to run to my new shower valve. The existing balanced cold supply is in 15mm. The existing hot supply is in 22mm. The shower valve has 22mm connectors for the water supply (its a fancy thermostatic one with a divertor to provide fixed shower head and...

Bathroom fan - switched FCU or 'Fan Isolating Switch'?

It says "wiring should be via a double pole isolating switch...the fuse rating should be 1amp (UK)." So I guess a switched FCU is the way to go. To me adding the FCU (with the fuse) into the equation *seems* safer than simply one of those big switches. Or am I just being dumb?

Bathroom fan - switched FCU or 'Fan Isolating Switch'?

I have a new VentAxia 100 fan (non-timed) to install in a loo. My Collins book says it should be off an FCU. I intend to give the fan its own switch outside the door, which is supported by the wiring diagram with the fan. My question; when I went to get the switched FCU to install between the...
