    downlighters for under fascia

    I'd like to fit white surface mounted downlighter spots under my fascia boards (low voltage, use no energy, free to leave on, that sort of thing !) . I'm having trouble finding what I need. Any ideas ?

    Spot lights into the loft.

    I've installed spot lights throughout the ceiling of the upstairs landing. The backs of the spotlights are pertruding into the loft space and insulation. Is there a standard way of solving this, so I can move about in the loft and also replace the insulation safely ?

    Edges of laminate flooring.

    I have laid laminate flooring throughout the whole of the downstairs. I have quadrant around the easy areas but have gaps around architrave and door frames. Any tips on how to fill these gaps and make them less conspicuous. Cheers :)

    Do you have any advice as to what type/brand of dimmer and slave I should go for. Do both have to be part of a package or will a slave dimmer work from any type of dimmer ?

    :roll: I'll hang my head in shame. All the wiring was correct. A broken live was all I had. Dimmer now works fine and the upstairs switch does what is supposed to. Thanks for the advice..

    The single gang upstairs I haven't touched. The 2 gang dimmer downstairs has : switch 1: yellow - common, red - L1 switch 2: black - common, blue L1, red - L2 This is as per the original 2 gang switch. What do you think ? Are there any safe variations I could try ?

    I have now a different problem. I wired in as per your explanation, and the dimmers work fine. When I turn the upstairs lights off by the original upstairs switch, when I try to turn them on from the dimmer downstairs they won't come on.     With help from you guy's, I have now wired in correctly a 2gang dimmer in my hallway and have left a single gang switch upstairs. All works a predicted exept, when I turn off the landing light upstairs, if I try to turn them on from the downstairs dimmer they won't ! The dimmer is push on / off...
