Thanks for all your help folks. Unplugged everything! And managed to reset the rcd. Power has now returned although still suspect there is a short lurking somewhere in the system. Will get this fixed once the decorating is completed. Happy days

With the mcb switched off I can reset the rcd switch. However as soon as I switch the mcb on the rcd trips off straight away

Unfortuantely I am not near the boiler at the moment. But did give it a quick glance this morning and both guages were within the limits. Would the pressure relief valve be able to have and afftec on the leak.?

Thanks I'll order the part now and give it go tomorrow but am concerned that when I remove the auto air vent the pipe its sits on will start to spill out loads of water.
