Thank you. It does look rough & gritty - I was presuming that was lime. I'm not even sure what sort of sand or lime or cement to look far. Is it sharp sand / builders sand? Are there different types of lime or cement? It's not a massive area to repoint - Just the odd patch up really.

Yes, I saw some kits on Amazon & eBay but not sure what type would work.... I'm worried because with the dark brown shoe polish I tried, it didn't seem to 'hold' the colour, if that makes sense... It just wiped off.

it all started with a cup ring on the arm of the couch. I tried to clean it and the colour started rubbing off.... Next I got some brown shoe polish and this has made it even worse. I think there must be some sort of cleaning agent in the polish. Can anyone recommend a colour / dye / renovator?

A these look like they sit quite high off the ground. I was wondering if there is anything that'll just sit on the floor (without the need to dig a sump). Water level is only usually 1-2 inches at worst.
