British Gas Maintainance Contract - Too Good To Be True?

Look at Domestic and General as well. They were cheaper than BG, covered for limescale damage and radiators and also replace the boiler if it needs it (unlike BG).

    power shower

I have the same project in mind BUT don't want to fit an extreme pump. Does anyone know of a less powerful pump that will, say, enhance the ususal flow without going to the extremes of 12 - 16 ltrs per minute.

    Plain old pipework?

OK on the regs. Do I need the water authority permission to install this shower? Its gravity fed to a mixer valve above the bath. I estimate there to be about half a meter of new connector pipe required from the feeds to the hot adn cold to the bath.

    Plain old pipework?

Thanks NStreet. I believe the shower will be supplied gravity fed from tank so not direct mains supply. Therefore assume no need for the valve you speak of. Also where can I get access to the relevant regs? Rgds W

New socket attached to consumer unit

Many thanks to one and all for the helpful replies. I get the impression that there is some debate about the safety of the installation. For clarity, and from what you have all written, this is a radial circuit wired to a double socket from the CU MCB which is supplying a ring circuit in the...

New socket attached to consumer unit

Happy New Year. I fitted a new double socket in the garage into which a freezer and tumble drier are plugged. This is more convenient than running an extension from another double socket elsewhere in the garage. To connect the new double socket I wired it into the existing consumer unit which...

Wiring a downlighter from a ring main spur

Thanks for the quick replies - and most helpful. As ever the project moves on and now I plan to try and rig two lights from the same spur - which is fused but not switched. One is wall light and the other the downlighter. Based on replies I believe I can rig a two switch socket to control...

Wiring a downlighter from a ring main spur

I want to rig a downlighter under the stairs and the most convenient wiring point seems to be a ring main spur (fused at 13A) in the wall. Can I use that to wire up the downlighter or must it be from the lighting circuit? WOuld it simply be a matter of replacing the 13A with a 3A? Thanks in...
