    Oil prices up yet again.

I get annoyed at the governments attitude that wind power will be our saviour, what a load of old tosh. It would be much more effective, efficient and cost effective to put a solar panel on every new build house but do they consider that no, you have to ask why? I think we will all have...

    Idiots.

If you are going to obscure their faces, it all becomes anonymous, you my as well not have a picture in the first place. A case of somebody over reacting to the risk?

    Irregular tiles - any ideas?

Its a 3 course splash back, not a whole room and with a chalk line it wouldn't take long at all. Instead of giving criticism helpful ideas would be more appropriate.

    Irregular tiles - any ideas?

I guess you could mark a grid on the wall and use this a guide, positioning the tile within each cell of the grid. Other than that you would have to rely on your keen eye.

    returned goods

Firstly, did she see the painting first. Was a deposit paid. If she has ssen the painting and a deposit has been paid then she must have been happy with it. Did you inform her of how long the postage would take and how it would be delivered? Has the painting been damaged by the rough handling...

    sanding down coving.

Get a dense foam sponge about 8"x6"x4" and use this as a sanding block, when you push it into the cove it will mould to the shape and make the job a little easier. Cant see you can really use an electric sander on a job like this.

Can you pierce the main drain when gardening?

If you have heavy clay soil it may be some sort of land drain going to a sump, but yellow pipe is normally reserved for gas. If you have pierced black or brown pipe it could be for the soakaway from the gutters.

is british gas ripping us off,

For the energy companies, privatisation was a licence to print money, the same can be seen with rail. The only market that seems to have seen competition and price decreases is telecoms.

    tesco the booze police

Increasing the price isn't going to solve the problem IMO. It will only penalise the sensible drinkers amoung us, increase Tesco profits and the Governments tax coffers. If you increase the price, more people will go abroad for cheap booze. There will be an increase in illegal alcohol, crime...

    OEM Windows - replacing components

I think changing either will be a breach of the licensing terms, especially for Vista, some time ago OEM copies allowed you to make a limited number of chnages before requiring activiation again. Check your licensing terms.

Removing screws from deck but heads are stripped

I did suggest Googling for 'screw extractor' as there are numberous types on the market. Here is one that doesn't require any drilling into the screw. http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/pro-grabit-damaged-bolt-screw-remove/path/05-drill-bits-screwdriver-bits-steels
