Best spreadable sealant / waterproofing for covered

I've used Bostik Waterproofing bituminous mastic. It dried after a few hours. But there's a few other products on the market, like everbuild BlackJack and Thompson's. Was hoping on some advice as to which was the best if others have used it. Thanks, but asphalting is a bigger job, I was just...

Best spreadable sealant / waterproofing for covered

Hi, I have a basement room which runs below the steps to the main entrance (see pic). This has been there for years. Every couple of year we have been painting the steps with bituminous mastic as the waterproofing fails and water makes its way through. Has anyone got any tips or advice as to the...

Hive Hive Active Heating for a Potterton Profile 100e?

Thanks stem. Not sure what sort of system it is connected to - and probably not qualified enough to work this out... The current control is an antiquated Randal 3060 programmer with a simple manual Honeywell thermostat. Would that help in working out compatibility? Thanks again.

Hive Hive Active Heating for a Potterton Profile 100e?

Hi, I've just seen the new offer by AO for Hive thermostats for £120. I am thinking of buying this as it seems a decent price, but had not enough time to thoroughly research if it fits my old boiler (a Potterton Profile 100e). Sadly I do not have the funds to change the old boiler and as it...

Problem with Ideal Isar HE30 boiler

Dave, you're a gem. I removed the white plastic tube and a few drops of water trickled out. Dried it out with a hair dryer and the boiler seems to be working fine at the moment. What's your address? I owe at least a bottle of wine. Cheers

Problem with Ideal Isar HE30 boiler

Hi Dave, thanks for your advice. I assumed the detection electrode was at fault as after a reset the boiler displays the correct "code 5" and then sounds as if it works for a bit. It then goes into 'L - F' error. I was simply following Frame 78 of the Fault Finding advice of the boiler...

Problem with Ideal Isar HE30 boiler

Changed the PCB, now i get a more "normal" error reading - the 'L- F' error. Working through the manual's Fault Finder there seems to be a problem with my flame detection electrode. I yanked that out but visually it looks fine to me. Does anyone know what i should be looking for? What does...

Problem with Ideal Isar HE30 boiler

Just for everyone's future reference according to Ideal's tech dpt a horizontal line is supposed to indicate either a PCB or User control fault. And that info ain't in the take home manual. Will be buying a new PCB, and will let you guys know if replacing it fixes the problem.

Problem with Ideal Isar HE30 boiler

The boiler is over 3y old now, so probably too late for extended warranty... PCB was my top culprit, but what puzzles me is that the boiler worked fine for 48 hours after it was completely dry. And then it decided to pack in. I will try and call their technical dept tomorrow, but has...

Problem with Ideal Isar HE30 boiler

Ok, here is my problem, and thanks to anyone in advance for ideas. BTW, please don't laugh while reading this. So I was abroad, and my wife called complaining that the boiler was leaking water. Thinking that some connection got loose I told her to put a bucket or two to collect any drips and...

Potterton Puma 80e lukewarm tap water.

Thanks guys, I actually gave up long ago. I had this problem in 2003, and after many cold showers and failing to find a part for less than £100 I gave in and had a new boiler installed. Good luck with your one! S.

Potterton Puma 80e lukewarm tap water.

After messing around a bit, I think it is my PCB. Looked up a couple of component dealers, and they quote £90-100. Anyone know if these can be bought second hand at salvage centres? :?: it seems silly to spend that amount on an old boiler.

Potterton Puma 80e lukewarm tap water.

Recently bought a flat, and as expected the boiler causes problems within a few weeks! The problem is that the hot tap water comes out lukewarm from any tap that gets turned on. Central heating is working fine - very hot, no problems there. I don't think the problem is to do with the cold...
