thank you. the head and valve will need replacing as its the old type not the snap on/off new style unfortunately,it means ill have to do a system drain.

thats obvious tbf. i was just asking if it was worth trying a motor change, hence why i asked if lever moving back suggested that the valve was ok.

hi people, hot water ok but central heating failed. the three port is a acl 679H340-30L0,it has the manual lever on top,if i move that across and lock in position (fill position) CH works fine,once i kill the power completely the lever will move back across to HW only,then with power back on...

yeah i thought this but wouldnt i be able to see if there was a sensor/contact on the door? its only a small house and there is only 3 motion detectors,i had a look in main box and there was only wiring for 3 zones?

punch in code zone 1 l.e.d illuminates red,after 30 secs or so alarm goes berserk and i have to cancel alarm set.

electrician will be carrying out CU installation i take it he will check those things?

ok thanks for the info its just i only noticed this earlier,CU is being swaped for a modern haggler,if thats how you spell it,when the new CU is fitted will the shower be fine as it is or will it need modifying in any way?

10mm cable from 30amp fuse in CU unit into isolator then connects to 9.5kv shower,is this safe ?

yes i understand that but the shower is safe isnt it? ive contacted a qualified electrician to do the CU swap just waiting on electric supplier to fit an isolator.

so is it still safe for me to connect the cooker cable to the 15amp fuse where the immersion heater once was?

it wouldnt be shared as immersion heater not used any more so that fuse location is not being used,the cooker cable is still behind CU just not being used.
