hi all many thanks for the multiple suggestions on how to deal with this, and the recommendation for the cafe! I only need 3 or 4 metres so I think I'll try gregers suggestion using torus skirting. thanks again all.

new shower not draining - no obvious reason

Looks good but I don't have space for that. The current is pretty much up agaist a joist as it is. This looks like it has a bulbous section unless they do a RH and LH version?

new shower not draining - no obvious reason

Ok, standard shower trap, with grill similar to white plastic one, except chrome plated, now installed. Max water level is now approx 5mm lower than before so about 10 to 15 mm below the top of the tray. Probably enough of a difference to be able to live with it. Still, for what now...

new shower not draining - no obvious reason

True! If it works it will be a shame. I specifically got the chrome waste as the waste in my previous shower, which was chrome plated plastic, started to loose its chrome after a couple of months.

thanks for the reply. I have access to the trap from below so no issue there. In fact, I had the same thought as you so I temporarily removed the trap and connected up with a couple of right angle connectors - same issue.

new shower not draining - no obvious reason

Hi, I just installed a new shower with new plumbing. For some reason it is not draining properly even though I think I have done everything correctly. It starts with a shower waste http://www.plumbworld.co.uk/architeckt-1-12-chrome-433-17534 This is connected to the trap...

Architeckt 1 1/2" Chrome Shower Waste with Removable Gr

ok, so I'm fitting this now. Should I cut this down so that it fits into the trap (see pics above)? Also the diameter seems slightly off. It does not sit well in the recess for the waste in the tray. The diameter of waste is slightly too large. Maybe this product is for something else?

Architeckt 1 1/2" Chrome Shower Waste with Removable Gr

hi Chris, thanks for the reply. Can you post a link to the part I need? I also have a cheapo shower waste and trap that came with the shower pack I bought, but the metal waste I bought does not fit into the trap as the threaded part is much longer. See here for photos: metal waste...
