    Texecom Premier LCD zone problem

Solved my own problem, I had put the wires on the two inner terminals marked A and T. I moved them to the outer ones and it works fine! Cheers Paul

    Texecom Premier LCD zone problem

I have a texecom premier 48 alarm that I have added an additional keypad to so I can alarm my garage as a separate area. I have used the two zones to connect a door switch and a PIR, and enabled these zones in Wintex as zones 10 and 11 (and then tried again with them set to 41 and 42)...

Could I just paint them with external masonry paint to stop them getting soaked all the way through?

    Waterproofing celcon blocks

I have a garage that is partially built with celcon blocks. IS rendering the only way to waterproofing them? One exposed wall should be easy to render (except the lower half of the wall is painted) but for other the only access is from the roof (but only the top half of the wall is...

Concrete lintel - which way up?

We did put the flat side down, and that was the side with the wire in. The problem is that it looks like it is bowing in the middle, but it hasn't got any load on it.

    Bolting joists together

I am replacing the roof on my garage, as the current construction is inadequate. The current joists are 38x220 at 600mm centres for a 6m span. I need 75x220 joists at 400mm centres. Therefore I'd like to reuse the 10 joists I have by bolting them together to give 5 of the correct size...

    Alarm Panel recommendation for house/garage

I want to fit an alarm to my house and detached garage. I'd like to be able to disarm the house without disarming the garage - can anyone recommend me a panel that can do this? I don't really want to have to disarm the whole system and then part set the garage - as this will occasionally...

    UPVC french door hinge security

I have externally opening UPVC french doors on both my garage and back doors. Neither of them are overlooked, so I would like to increase the security on them as I believe the exposed hinges are a weak point. Is there anywhere where I can buy hinge bolts for UPVC french doors? I have had a...

    Alarm cable underground

I am about to run a new armoured power cable underground to my garage and at the same time I want to run an extra cable so when I fit an alarm I can add the garage in as an extra zone. I believe if I just use standard cable it will break down if it is buried, so is there any cable available...

    Determining flow/return pipes of radiator

The towel rail came with a TRV, but unfortunately it is a single directional one. But I should easily be able to see which pipe is connected to the next rooms TRV. If not I guess I could just fit it, and then turn it round if its the wrong way.

    Determining flow/return pipes of radiator

I removed a radiator several weeks ago, and I now wish to fit a towel rail with TRVs, however I don't know which pipe is the feed and which is the return. Is there an easy way to work out which is the feed and which is the return? The system is currently drained down.
