yes the washing machine and dishwasher are underneath the area in question. But there is a smaller split next to the cooker also so that line of evidence doesn't apply I don't think. Like I said the guy didn't even look underneath the worktop. cheers.

thanks for this - The 3rd party inspector didn't even look under the worktops so is essentially accusing me of mistreating them with zero evidence!

there is gas supply right next to the fire. this is a stupid question i think but presumerably i'm restricted in terms of the fire i get by the dimensions of the space the current dead fire occupies? 41cm wide, 64cm high and at the deepest point is 23cm. Just looking the internet around...
