How to drain CH without a drain valve (to replace TRVs)

I've done some searching on here and think I have worked out what I need to do. The reason I need to drain the system is to change two TRVs that always seem to be either stuck closed or stuck open. I've checked all the downstairs radiators and any visible pipework but I cannot find a...

Hotpoint Aquarius WDL520 - not drying - all lights flashing

Well I finally got round to looking into this problem and I couldn't see anything obviously bottle-like on the back of the drum. I don't suppose anyone has anything helpful like a photo or an exploded diagram?

Hotpoint Aquarius WDL520 - not drying - all lights flashing

Same thing here - how do I unblock the condenser? Is this a job for the engineer or can I do it myself? (novice DIYer but pretty competent mountain bike mechanic!)

    downlight hole slightly too large

OK. I've got a plasterer mate coming round week after next to skim another room. I guess I'll just get him to do it. This is my first adventure with down lights. I've managed to avoid them up 'til now (normally by having old houses). I have to say I'm not hugely impressed with the fundemental...

    downlight hole slightly too large

I'm in a similar position though not because I gut it too big. When changing the lamp a load of the plasterboard crumbled and fell away leaving the unit hole that's too big, not perfectly round and has a ragged edge of plasterboard and the paper (?) that was left behind. Any suggestions...

    Crumbling plasterboard round downlighter

I went to change the bulb from a downlighter in the bathroom and instead of unscrewing the cover, the whole unit rotated. This was followed shortly by a load of the plasterboard crumbing out of the hole. The unit is now hanging from the wires in a hole too big with a ragged and loose edge...

Upgrading old Mira 415 using a thermostatic cartridge?

Hi We have an old Mira 415 that is dripping constantly and not controlling temperature/flow very well. I'm certain it needs a new cartridge. Reading around on the internet it looks like there are two cartridges. Our doesn't have a thermostatic temp limit so a direct swap would be the grey...

    Decorative/Period Meter Cupboard?

Had a nasty feeling that was the case. Will have to work out what I want it to look like then how to build it for me. Or, as the last thing I did in wood was a teapot stand 25y ago, who can build it for me!

    Decorative/Period Meter Cupboard?

I'm renovating the hall way of a house built in 1875. There's an existing copboard containing gas/elec meters and fusebox etc is (i) falling apart and (ii) hideous. Clearly there were no meter cupboards in 1875 but I'd like to replace it with something in keeping with the rest of the hall...
