    Candy E08

UPDATE Dropped the motor to check the connections. All looked good. So took a look at one of the brushes. Appeared to have worn down to the minimum. Surprising, given it's a year old machine. On closer inspection I noticed a white oxidation at the collar. I pressed on the graphite and the...

    Candy E08

Hi I have a Candy Grand Vita Model: GVS169DC3 Just over a year old with 300hrs on the clock. When attempting to run a cycle, it will fill and drain without the drum turning, and shows E08 at the end. Ran the diagnostic and it also shows E08 at the end. I'm presuming it's unlikely to be the...

    Boiler condensate

Muggles, there hasn't been any changes made to the boilers settings. The condensate drains into a bucket of lime chips that used to be constantly filled to the brim, but is now bone dry. Thought it may have been a problem generic to all condensing boilers, hence the initial lack of details...

    Boiler condensate

Sooey, thanks for your interest in my problem, and for being so thorough. The boiler is a Glow worm Betacom 30c running 6 rads, and all our hot water. Hopefully these details will make the difference, and allow you make a diagnosis. Corgigrouch, thanks for your suggestion. I tend to leave...

Thanks for the tips Mursal. Nothing quite like good advice from someone who knows what they're doing. Let you know how it goes. Gary

    Bodywork Spot Rust

Thanks for your advise lads. Mursal, I think the marks are just staining. The surface of the metal is as smooth as glass. I was just worried that it wasn't exactly the same colour as the surrounding 'clean' metal. You have to look close to see it though. Maybe I'm just being too fussy. I will...

    Bodywork Spot Rust

Bought a 1972 classic Fiat 500 a couple of years ago. Stripped it down, got the whole car media blasted, and a coat of acid etch primer on top, with the intention of putting another couple of coats of build primer on before getting it painted. Life being life, a family member got really...

    No condensate

Tried running at a lower temp mickyG, but no joy. It's always short cycling as well. A really hot C/H flow, but cold C/H return & poor heat in rads. Had system powerflushed recently, but no improvement. Wish I'd kept my old Vokera.

    No condensate

Glow worm Betacom 30c 2 year old. Recently stopped producing condendate. Can see plenty of condensate in the flue, but none is draining out the condensate pipe. Do they get gunged up? Thanks.

    C/H & water not hot enough Glow-Worm Betacom 24c

Glow-Worm Betacom 24c. Installed 3 years ago. 10mm microbore. Regularly serviced. Work fine until recently. Now the hot water & the radiators are not getting anywhere near hot enough, despite being on constantly. The temp setting dials on the front of the boiler are set just shy of max...

    Gap or butt-fit paving slabs?

I'm laying 10msq of 450mmx450mm paving slabs for a patio that will be used as a dining area. So there won't be any vehicles going over it. The sub-surface will be 75mm of MOT1 compacted with a vibrating plate, and I intend to use a full bed mortar. I was looking to see if there was a...
