A couple of questions about cleaning and sealing tiles.

They should probably have put some sealer on before grouting so that the grout was easier to clean so it'll just take a lot of effort to clean. If I were you I'd give Lithofin's tech help line a call. They sell some of the best stone sealers and cleaners and will tell you what you need to...

Sealant colour between tile and worktop?

This stuff http://www.sealantsonline.co.uk/ProductGrp/OTTOSEAL-S70-Premium-Natural-Stone-Silicone-Sealant is excellent sealant and comes in so many colours that you will match the grout. I think the best silicone finisher tool is...

    tanking cement backer boards?

I think with Marmox you use their cartridge sealer between the boards to seal them. Probably not necessary but would take care of this scenario you present.

PICS - Walls running out - should I aquapanel behind?

I'd tile the Aquapanel onto the wall with tiling adhesive - same stuff your using for the tiling. You could mechanically fix it as well if you wanted to make sure it didn't move while the tile adhesive set.

Limestone - removing stain and sealing

Do you mean it was treated before it was supplied or that the tiler treated it after installing it? If you mean the former then it's unusual & I'd imagine it will only have had a light application to prevent grout staining it during installation. It should have had it's main application...

Presumably the joists are thinner because the span is shorter? Test is really whether they flex.

    chipboard floor. tile prep question

What you need to do depends on why the Chipboard is creaking - are the joists underneath flexing? Or is it that the cuts aren't supported? Best approach would be to fix whatever's making it flex & then go over with the Hardie backer - or trash the Chipboard & replace with 18/22 mm Ply &...

    DIY question for experienced tiler

The correct approach is to not have a little bit aka - a slither. It means cutting the larger tile so that you have a larger small piece - may create more wastage & think about how you wrap round onto the longer wall so that it looks right. Layout is all about aesthetics & slithers always...

Limestone - removing stain and sealing

Limestone is incredibly porous & the stain may have gone quite deep. If I was you I'd give Lithofin's technical help desk a call & ask them if they can suggest an approach. I've heard of someone making a poultice using fullers earth to draw a stain out but it may be tricky...

Levelling and prepping suspended timber subfloor

Many SLCs like Weber Floor Flex allow 50mm in one go so shouldn't be a problem. Also use it to encapsulate the UFH before you tile on top.

Packing out an uneven wall....how do I raise the bed?

I think you'll find it quite tricky & with a very thick bed you might find the tiles sag while the adhesive's wet & that you end up with lips. It'll also cost you a small fortune in adhesive if the wall's any size. Usually it's best to get the substrate as flat as you can before you start...

    Hardie board onto breeze block

I'd use Dot & Dab with tile adhesive & mechanically fix through the dabs. Grip fill might be okay if the wall is very flat but tile adhesive would probably still be easier & better.

How to fix a mirror splashback onto tiles help please

PAR means Polished All Round. The price difference is likely that one is toughened glass & the other (cheaper) isn't. Toughening usually has a cost per piece element which can make small pieces expensive.

How do you align floor and wall tiles grout lines?

I'd use 2/3mm spacers. 4mm will look huge on the walls and 3mm might look a bit big also. Start by marking the tile lines on the floor and walls using a pencil / chalk until you have it all lined up - remember that you have to centre windows and not be left with slithers on walls or floor at...

    Honed Travertine Etching repair

Honing is polishing that stops before the grits get very fine,. The only solution I'm aware of is repolishing the stone. You'll be lucky to have it end up looking like the tiles next to it though & you may not have the gear necessary to do it yourself and the etching may go too deep to...

    Bal recommend 13mm U notch 20mm on 28mm centres

You'll find that the trowel you need depends on the surface you're tiling on & how much you need to level up as you go. You can end up using a selection as you go over humps and dips in the floor. Extra large -...

Silicon or grout for wet area tiles?

You should use waterproof grout for the tiles but always silicone the joints where walls meet walls / floors / shower bases etc. Different substrates expand / contract at different rates and grout will crack and leak - Silicone is very flexible & won't crack. So for your application...
