Drains blocked - but no drain cover to lift to sort it

Good morning folks. This follows on from my question the other week, as we have a blockage somewhere in the drains, mostly affecting the downstairs loo, which bubbles and fills up if we drain the bath, and doesn't flush properly itself (fills up and slowly drains). Our house is the end one...

Drain cover - four doors away?

Hi folks. I live in the last house of a row of four terraced houses that share a drain down to the main drain in the road, ie. we're furthest from the road. The only manhole cover I can find is in the front garden of the first house, ie. the one nearest the road. Would that be normal...

    Drain problems - blockage?

Morning. When the bath drains, or the upstairs wc is flushed, this causes the water in the downstairs wc to bubble. The downstairs wc also does not drain properly when it is flushed; the bowl fills with water and drains slowly. Is this a blocked drain outside? If so, I take it we need...

Do you have to be CORGI to change a pump?

Plumber reckons I need new pump in my Worcester combi boiler. I asked if he's Corgi and he said no, but tells me that's ok if he just does the water, not the gas side of it. And the pump is water so he's all right... Is he telling me the truth? Thanks guys. :?

Does this advice sound right to you?

Hi, I've three radiators of ten in the system that don't heat up at all. Problems that have been eliminated are air, balancing and the valves. Just spoke to a plumber who says in that case choice is between a new pump and a powerflush. Pump being £80 plus labour, powerflush £330 for 3...

Hi everyone. I've a Worcester combi boiler supplying a total of 10 radiators around the house. The ones downstairs at the front do the following - lounge x2 and downstairs WC are always completely cold, and the hall one gets luke warm only. I have bled them and clean looking...

Block in a radiator pipe - any tips please

Ok so my radiator downstairs isn't heating up. Kindly plumber says there's water in it, but a blockage somewhere. He suggests I pay him over £400 for a powerflush for the whole system... so I'm naturally looking a cheaper solution! The rad in question, starts to heat up from one end. The...

    Power flush - expensive!

Ok ao I called a plumber out to look at some cold radiators, and after ten minutes he told me my heating system needs a power flush which would take all day and cost £400 plus VAT. To top it all, he wants a £20 call out fee for coming and telling me this. He reckons 'there's plenty of water...

Hi all. I have a Worcester combi boiler supplying 10 radiators in a 3 bed house. when I moved in I had no heat, so I called a plumber out who serviced the boiler and replaced the gas valve, if I remember rightly. The house is 7 years old and as far as I know, so is the boiler. Last...
