    Light Switch terminals

I know the answer is probably to replace the switch, but, why do the terminal screws keep working loose in the back of my lightswtich switch??? It happened shortly after I moved in, and has happened a few times since. Is it something I'm doing wrong???? The first time it happened the...

    MEM Fuse Box

Hi, Just a quick one.... I have an old MEM fuse box in my house, that I know to be about 26 years old. The fuses look a bit like the ones you find in 13A plugs, and clip into a carrier which then clips into the fuse box. Is it possible to change the fuse carries for something...

    Mounting a Consumer unit

Oh. I assumed, wrongly it seems, that you board mounted it to stop damp and moisture from the brickwork getting in to it. I stand corrected. Thank you.

    Mounting a Consumer unit

Just a quick one. I read that your supposed to mount a consumer unit on a board, which I understand. If your putting a CU in a garage, are you allowed to attach the CU directly to the wall???

    Earth.....I'm a little confused!!!

Plugged my kettle in to the socket so it takes a standard plug. The earths on the back of the socket are actually connected together, so I assume i'd connect the T&E to one, then connect the other to the back box??? Can't see a part number on it i'm afraid, but it is stamped MK on the front!

    Earth.....I'm a little confused!!!

Hi, Can someone explain this for me?! IN my garage theres a twin socket and back box, made of plastic. Usual Earth, Neutral and Live connections. I want to replace this with a metal clad unit, only because its a little more hefty, but it has 3 earth connections, one on the socket...
