    roofing felt / membrane

Bought 100m roll of DuPont Tyvek timberframe wrap to sheet the OSB and now have plenty left over. Could I use it on the pitched roof? It's water resistant, breathable and can be left exposed for 4 months and with any luck I'll have tiles over it much sooner than that. Cheers

    Rendering roughcast garage wall

Because it has been there since the 30's and needs patched in places but mostly because we want to make it look a bit smarter It would be too big a job a to chisel off the existing roughcast and potentially damage the brick underneath. Can anyone give any advice? Thanks

    Rendering roughcast garage wall

I have a garage that was, I think, wetcast? many years ago and I want to put a render of it and get a smoother finish. The roughcast is ridiculously strong and chisels don't make much of an impact . Am i ok to just render straight onto the existing surface? I've seen the excel doc with the...

switching 10+ year old condensing boiler

Just wondering on the best way to go when getting rid of the boiler. Obviously we are set up for a condensing boiler so if we just lifted the old one off the wall and bolted a new one in place (simplification I know) would that be a good option or should we take the opportunity to replace with a...

I had BG out today and was pleased with their service. Was asked if I wanted to take out their home service cover at £16p/m which is £192 a year. Today I gave them £156 and my boiler is 2 years old. Seems like I am up plus when I called them in the helpful operator suggested I take out cover at...

Just had Scottish Gas out today and the boiler appears to be fixed. They had a good poke about and eventually replaced the APS and I now have hot water and radiators on demand again. Potterton Performa 28 aps or pcb?

Thanks for that. The switch has three terminals. Blue and brown wires and then a black wire at the side. I assumed the blue/brown are the supply and the black is the output. What do you reckon?
