Hi Thanks for the reply but all is sorted. ive put a junction box in near the ceiling which will be covered with a lowered ceiling, making all kitchen ceiling flush, and then run a new lenghtened cable down to the old socket position + a foot or so to get it below worktop. Frosty

    three cables to one socket?

Hi I have 2 double sockets in my kitchen, one of which has three lives, neutrals and earths going into it. (this is the questionable one but I'm assuming this is the feed for a spur) The other kitchen socket is to the side of a boiler and I don't really have much access to it, undesirable I...

    moving sockets in a kitchen

Thanks for the replies people :) I really do want to hide these sockets as I also think it's looks neater so I think it's going to have to be blanking plates as I don't think re-running the cable is a practical alternative, incidentally, the gutting is, laying a floor levelling compound...

    moving sockets in a kitchen

Hi I'm about to gut my kitchen and do a refit, at the moment my sockets are above worktop level and I want to move them out of sight, below. So ,should I fit blanking plates and just extend new cable to new boxes or is there some kind of robust junction box i can fit which could be buried...

    GLOWORM 75 SIT COMBI BOILER

Anyway can we get back to the problem as its bl**dy cold, I have found the expansion vessel, big red coiled thing at the back of the boiler and as I'm looking down at it from above, on the left hand side, there is a cap like a tyre valve cap but i cannot remove this, only turn it a slight...

    GLOWORM 75 SIT COMBI BOILER

Breezer, I've read a lot of your posts and realised that you are endowed, like me, with the gift of common sense. The situation is ongoing and I have now discovered where the expansion vessel is but as I could not see how I could gain access to it I got a plumber friend of a friend round, he was...

    GLOWORM 75 SIT COMBI BOILER

Well I'm sorry but I thought that was one of the purposes of this site and others like it. If It's possible to do it myself, I would like to. What I'm asking is how and how is not necassarily "getting a heating enginner round" unless I cannot or am not allowed to. Thanks Frosty

    GLOWORM 75 SIT COMBI BOILER

I recently had to replace the prv on this boiler and now find that the pressure keeps dropping and rising to 3 bar, just short of where the prv should blow. I think that I need to do something to the expansion vessel with a pump but there is nothing in the manual that I have. Is this something I...
