Adding a one way switch to existing cable to light

Thanks Winston1. EFLImpudence, I was going to use the existing cable which runs from the junction box to the light. Ie Wire it into the switch and then run a cable out of the switch to the light. I didn't fancy fiddling around with the junction box.

Hi - I'm hoping this is fairly simple but I have cable in the garage which comes out of the rose in the picture and runs along out of the door to a PIR light. I would like to add a switch though. Am I right in thinking I need the cable to go into the switch and wire the live into a terminal...

Max wattage for LED bulbs in new light fittings

Thank you every one for your views. It is an open fitting as it is IP20 and the instructions were a but rubbish as the box said 3.5 and the piece of paper inside said 3 so I agree that not a lot of thought has gone into it ;)

Max wattage for LED bulbs in new light fittings

Yep, that's what I couldn't understand. The numbers are so small compared to even halogen bulbs I can't see what the issue would be.

Max wattage for LED bulbs in new light fittings

Hi - I have just fitted a triple spotlight and it says Max 3.5w GU10 LED build required. I have a whole bunch of 4.6w bulbs, will they be OK to use? Its hard to imagine an extra watt per bulb is going to be an issue?

    1 Gang Intermediate Switch Wiring

Hi, I need to replace a 1 gang intermediate switch but the new one (MK) doesn't quite match. The old one has yellow in 1,2 and blue in 3,4. It has Out marked at the top. I would guess Old = New 1 = bottom 1 2 = top 1 3=bottom 2 4 = top 2. Any help would be appreciated.

Cutting hole in door for flush handles

Thanks, unfortunately I bought them off eBay and had assumed they would be standard. I'll try the 35mm and then try to chisel a bit extra. There is a lip so I have a bit of contingency o_O

Cutting hole in door for flush handles

Hi, I have flush circular handles but am unsure of the best way to make the hole for them to sit in, it only needs to be approx 8mm deep. I was hoping to use a drill bit that is used to make the holes for kitchen hinges but I need the hole to be 37mm diameter. The door is just a cheap moulded...

    TV Wall mount

It is a solid wall, the cables were chased in and drop down vertically. Hopefully I'll avoid them!

    TV Wall mount

Thanks. I do want to mount the TV over the sockets and this was what was confusing me as I also wanted it as flush as possible to the wall ann couldn't see how some of the mounts would work in this instance. I'll get the one from Tool station, at least it's cheap!

    TV Wall mount

Many thanks. I don't need tilting etc just fixed. Because of the wiring coming out of the wall, is there a particular type / design I need?
