    plasterboard to solid wall

Sound advice indeed thanks again Richard C. Many punters however are not totally gullible but out at work most or all of the day and this means upon return the damage is already done and hidden. I did complain back to the council and, no surprise, got no response. Thanks again Richard I...

    plasterboard to solid wall

Thanks very much appreciated Richard C. :D I will indeed be getting a professional tiler in to do the tanking and tiling, however i must add that I did think I had got a professional to do the work initially, but it proved otherwise in the end. The builder was even recommended by my local...

    plasterboard to solid wall

The stud work is only 40mm shallow and one board will cover the whole area. Dot n dab sorry to be so naive but is this plaster or adhesive and should I then plug and screw for extra strength to the solid wall? I really don't want to have to do this again should the boards start to move and...

    plasterboard to solid wall

Thanks Sintra looks almost too good to be true. Will it hold board in place though after tanking, tiling and grouting weight is added. I wouldn't like to experiment!! Anybody used this gear for shower walls and is it not possible to use both this and screw and raulplugs...belt and braces...

    plasterboard to solid wall

I have had problems with a shower room and have had to remove old tiles and boards. Th boards were not fixed correctly with hardly any noggins in drywall. Some plasterboards were simply nailed into place on a solid wall. Susequently the tiles moved and water got behind the grouting, cowboys...

    Tanking questions...

Thanks Jason. Guess I'll rip em off then because they were put on by the same tiler, onto skimmed walls.

    Tanking questions...

I'm new to the forum and here because I indeed had a shower tiled by an obvious cowboy 4 years ago. The wet room was obviously not tanked and subsequently the tiles have fallen off and the plaster behind was wet. The plasterboard is not damaged but the tiles have pulled off the skim. I...

    Wireless thermostat problems...

I don't think the thermostat is old stock as Drayton said themselves that the older versions were 418MHz mine is 433MHz. And Drayton have emailed me to say they know interference is a problem. However since using their great troubleshooting document which also has a signal strength test, I...

    Wireless thermostat problems...

As I say the installers are going to replace the Drayton with the Honewell thermostat as Honeywell have a 868MHz frequency which operates on an intermitant 10 millisecond signal. They say that this will never get problems from static signal hardware. let you know how it goes when its fitted

    Wireless thermostat problems...

Just had a reply from Drayton... So I guess its a wired thermostat or new alarm system. Unless I can hide the thermostat away from the interference. Anybody out there know if there is a thermostat manufacturer out there using a different frequency!!! :?:

    Wireless thermostat problems...

Definately not operating at temperature settings, set to come on at 20*C but often thermostat showing 15*C and not sending demand. Both Drayton thermostat and alarm work on 433MHz as do most wireless alarms and thermostats it seems. Cheers guys

    Wireless thermostat problems...

I have recently just spent £2500 on a new central heating boiler with wireless room thermostat. The heating system has been acting totally erratically, switching on and off at unprogrammed times. After some frustrating investigation and lots of very cold mornings I think this website may lead...

    laminating over carpet

 Is it ok to lay laminate underlay fibre boards over carpet first then put laminate ontop. I would have thought this would provide extra insulation, both noice and heat, along with providing the floating aspect needed for the laminate :?: Edit; I have searched this forum but this...
