    Grant 70/90 Multipass - Leaking

Hi All So I wanted to update and resurrect this thread for anyone who searches in the future. So two years ago wasn't a great time, and as advice above I used Fernox F4 (twice), and it struggled on unit April last year, when trying to fill it just flooded the bottom of the boiler. Because the...

Beko DRVS62W Dryer - No Heat - Thermostat

Hi This is my Daughters inherited dryer. Apparently wasn't great at drying from newish. Had a look last weekend but she lives a distance away so want to be prepared next time. There was quite a bit off fluff inside the sensor, cleared this and checked the front stat, & combined 2 element...

    Parquet flooring refurb bit missing.

Hi Essex I used to work for a company that made flooring and parquet. They offered a colour match service, but was very expensive and really for commercial applications. Old parquet is normally either, red oak, pitch pine, or sapele. It's not sapele, and don't think it's red oak, so most likely...

McCulloch 250 LS Strimmer - No Drive

Well, I've got an update on this, so just posting to help anyone else that has the same issue. Basically problem was strimmer kept loosing drive, it's the type with the split two piece shaft. So the problem turned out to be a combination of wear and float in the inner drive shafts. The wear in...

McCulloch 250 LS Strimmer - No Drive

Thanks John. Motor side seems good but will double check tomorrow. Head has been removed and is fine there. It's not had excessive use even though it's getting on a bit. I thought it was either one of the bushes had dislodged (no way to relocate it as shaft cannot be stripped), hence the thought...

McCulloch 250 LS Strimmer - No Drive

Yes, have checked, end are square, no evidence of rounding off at all. If I split the 2 piece shaft have lots of float. Re-assemble, get drive, then looses it again. Inner shafts not broken. It's annoying the heck out of me..... The plastic bushes that sit inside the outer shaft seem to regulate...

McCulloch 250 LS Strimmer - No Drive

Hi All After a bit of advice to see if anyone has had this issue and how they fixed it. Strimmer is pretty old now, maybe 8 years. This year I dug it out of the garage and fired it up, ran fine for 20 mins. Then lost drive to the head. I can feel by turning the head there is no resistance...

    Grant 70/90 Multipass - Leaking

Hi All Just a quick update on this one for anyone searching threads in the future. I know the boiler is on borrowed time but put a 500ml bottle of Fernox F4 in the system about a week and a half ago. For now, no leaks, boiler hold pressure etc (touch wood). So at least hoping this buys me some...

    Grant 70/90 Multipass - Leaking

Hi All I think I know the answer to this one, but just want to explore all options before facing a painful bill. I have a Grant 70/90 multipass, sealed system oil condensing boiler. It was installed about 17 years ago. Water locally is very soft and not aggressive. Boiler has started to leak...

    Hoover VHV781C dryer

Checked and checked again. It throws the E15 code after about 5 mins when the dryer switches to reverse rotation.

    Hoover VHV781C dryer

    Hoover VHV781C dryer

Hi Right,I've cleaned out the machine and I'm sure there is no blockage. I've run it without the vent fitted to be sure it's not that. I've changed the front TOC with a gen part, little different resistance, old read 30k, new 25k. Checked wiring, connections etc. Still getting E15 error...

    Hoover VHV781C dryer

Hi Hope someone can point me in the right direction. Have a Hoover VHV781C vented dryer. It's displaying an E15 error code which indicates an issue with overheat and the cut outs (has green dot on top). Machine will run for a few mins then stop and display E15. At the back on the top of...

1.25 Fiesta Zetec Coolant Tank Exploded

Hi John I hate this car. It's been messed about with before..... Bit of an update I left it for an hour and the coolant level dropped about 1/2 litre. I'm guessing this is air being bled out of the system, as there are no visible leaks. Ran the car at tickover on the drive for 20 mins...

1.25 Fiesta Zetec Coolant Tank Exploded

Hi John Thanks for the thoughts. I think the pump is driven off the serpentine belt. I've already had this off to get to the stat housing. lol When I had the stat out I gave the pump a spin by hand an got glugs of water out of the stat housing. Also would expect the temp gauge to be...

1.25 Fiesta Zetec Coolant Tank Exploded

Hi I’ve got a problem with Daughters Fiesta 1.25 Zetec 1999. Cut a long story short it’s not been used whilst she’s been away at university for 3 years. I’ve just occasionally run it and moved it up and down the drive. Decided she now wants to use it again. Did some basic work on it and...

Grant Multipass 70/90 Reillo Burner Noisy

Here is the strange thing, it was noisy before I disturbed it, it was noisy when I reassembled. But after standing for 30 mins it's fine and has been all night (so far fingers crossed). If the seal had gone and lubed the bearing it would surely be quiet when it first fires up and then get...

Grant Multipass 70/90 Reillo Burner Noisy

Thanks burnerman, I didn't strip the motor, and when I fired it up after putting it back together it was still noisy. Half an hour later it was fine and still fine now ?? It's bizzare. But I'm expecting it to come back.

Grant Multipass 70/90 Reillo Burner Noisy

Hi Was looking for some advice. As above have a Grant Multipass, about 12 years old. I have to say it's been excellent. A couple of years ago when the boiler first fired up after being on holiday for a week it was a bit noisy for the first minute or two and that was it. Over the past...

HW Tank Pressure Relief Valve occasionally dripping

Yes thanks, given both the hot and cold a good flush through. It didn't seem to work as it was weeping, but seems to have settled down so far so good. Otherwise off for a new valve tomorrow. Just can't understand why it would discharge enough water to make the ground wet under the overflow...
