Can someone tell me if it's possible to run low voltage through a normal 1.5mm cable via transformer?

The distance between the garage and the gate is about 8 metres. So if I run low volatge (12v) cable from the garage (with transformer) and bury the wire inside plasic conduit all the way to the gate, is that not sufficient?

OK, not temporary light but a plug (with RCD) what's wrong with that? Alternatively how about a low volatge light with the transformer inside teh garage?

There is is no hard core under the concrete floor and I am thinking that if we crack the concrete then hope that this will act as hard core and simply lay sand and blocks on top? The newly laid concrete floor has a slope towards the building where it meets newly laid water channel(s)...
