    Honeywell Aquastat

Spacethegas The topic is a more specific aspect of the earlier topic, which itself it was suggested to me may not have been understood. I have a genuine problem I am trying to solve and gratuitous remarks such as your from a self appointed moderator contribute nothing. If you uable be...

Best CH/HW System for Hard Water Area

Spacethegas The unit I have is a Flowmax which was long ago superseded by a 'better' model. I replaced the mixer valve (unit cost £85 or so) two years ago and have not had problems since.

    Honeywell Aquastat

Thanks Gasman for the url. I previously looked at the Honeywell site, and found some pdf info but it is very sketchy and does not give a set up procedure. I can see from what is provided that the 'probe' measures the water temperature and the n/c contact opens when a certain temp is...

Best CH/HW System for Hard Water Area

I live in Leicestershire and the water has a Mg/Ca salts level of circa 100ppm, which is said to be borderline hard. The heatstore CH/HW system has the advantage that it provides mains pressure HW. However due to water hardness the transfer coil in the heatstore which is at 80 deg C +/- is...

    Central Heating/HW System

Thanks for your response. The Honeywell L6188B2034 has a range from 25 to 95 deg C. The differential is set to 4 deg. by which I understand that the store temp has to fall by 4 deg below the set point in order for the spdt contact to make. The problem I have is how to set the thermal...

    Central Heating/HW System

The system I have is a thermal store with a gas boiler. There are two pumps, one for the boiler and one for the CH radiators. The system was originally installed with an oil fired boiler when the house was built in 1992. The boiler was changed to a Worcester Bosch around three years ago. The...

PS One point I forgot to mention: I believe the waste goes to the sewer, and the smell seems to me to be sewer gas !

    Kitchen Sink drain problem

Additional information: We have been in the house for around seven years, and some years ago I cleaned out the disposal, which it turned out to be mostly unnecessary. Over the past year or so the disposal has not been used and kitchen waste is disposed of via the 'bin' The smell is...

    Kitchen Sink drain problem

Hi Seco, Yes, you are correct the sink is more of a quarter sink than a half sink. The main sink has a waste disposal unit (orange). The black down pipe is joined to the disposal outlet black pipe at the bottom of the picture. The disposal outlet has no separate U-bend.

    Kitchen Sink drain problem

The problem I have is that after waste water drained a smell of bad eggs pervades the kitchen. The drain is via a U-bend water trap, which I have ensured is clean. However , it seems the trap may not be holding water (otherwise why the odours), but I cannot be sure of this. A feature of...

    Heatstore waterscaling problem

In the light of having received "null response" to my post of yesterday, it would seem that I am reduced to responding myself ! Supplementary questions: Does anyone know of a low(ish) cost diy descaler similar to the Kamco Eco-Scale C10, and where such can be obtained ? I have been...
