“Christ is king”

Exactly.

But there is fracture developing in the US religious right where many now oppose Israel.
That’s the sort of thing odds wants to hear.

Don't you want to hear it?

Here you said that a lot of people believe that some elements of the US religious right are antisemitic, and the AP article you read says the same, so why don't you want to hear that there's a fracture developing?

Is it because you don't think it is true, despite your post , or is it because you do think it's true but wish it wasn't?

Nonsense, it was confirmation that the only reason for the post was to provoke, attack and keep the hatred of Jews top of mind.
As filly said, stop pretending and be open about being antisemitic.

FGS - PLEASE explain how posting an article about the rise of antisemitism and citing examples of antisemitism was to provoke and attack?

And as for keeping "the hatred of Jews top of mind" - arguably the article does. It reminds people that antisemitism exists, and is spreading.

Why don't you want people to be alerted to the rise of antisemitism?

It's the wrong sort of anti-Semitism as far as they are concerned.

The religious extremists in the article are Christians. And the article discusses those on the Christian right who are now calling themselves anti-Zionists. It was a rather dry, fact packed article and admittedly it took quite a while to get my head round it. This was my attempt at asking Co-Pilot for a quick summary:

  • “Christ is king” is a traditional Christian phrase that has recently taken on political and extremist associations in the U.S.
  • Some far‑right and antisemitic groups have adopted it as a slogan, shifting its public meaning.
  • A religious‑liberty commission hearing on antisemitism became controversial when a member questioned links between anti‑Zionism and antisemitism.
  • That member, Carrie Prejean Boller, was later removed and has since used the phrase prominently online.
  • The debate highlights divisions on the political right over Israel, Zionism, and rising antisemitism.
  • Catholic leaders and scholars warn the phrase is being co‑opted in ways that distort its religious meaning and fuel Christian nationalist messaging.

Your goal was to provoke and annoy while keeping the subject top of mind.

Why should the subject of the insidious spread of antisemitism in the US Christian right not be kept in mind?

Why do you want the subject of the insidious spread of antisemitism in the US Christian right to be kept quiet?

No he didn't. He said absolutely nothing about the content of the article.

It was just a furious rant full of ad hominems.

I haven't read the article and have no intention of doing so, these days I have little interest in what Odds has to say, which is why I haven't bothered to participate much in this discussion.

I will reiterate the fact that every time Odds posts a thread like this he does so with one sole intention.
I also took aim at certain hypocrites who have seen first hand and acknowledged the type of bile he has posted in the past but have now conveniently 'forgotten' these past posts which were quite rightly deleted.

Crack on lads.
