Can I use a 1/2" brass socket like the one linked below to connect two male threaded fitting ends?
It looks to me (plumbing novice) like the socket has two female 1/2" ends on it.
I want to install an isolation valve between the flex tail and the brass fitting from the wall in the attached photo. I saw this socket and thought it might be a way of connecting the brass fitting and valve male ends without buying and using a length of pipe and nuts/olives.
So end-to-end would be: flex tail - tail adaptor - valve - socket - existing bass male fitting
