i have not a clue about central heating so here is the best decription of my prob
radiator in my dining room is warm at the top cold at bottom and 1 of the copper pipes going into the radiator is stone cold where as the other 1 is boiling, i have bled it loads but no air radiator has recently been cleared so dont think its anything to with sludge, the pipe that is cold is going to the side where it just has a little cap

next prob

my rad in living room is driping from under the little cap it has a small screw on the top
hope everyone understands what i mean lol

only a thought as i am NOT a plumber or heating engineer

if rad has been cleaned, that means both valves had to be turned off, has the other valve been turned on?(since pipe is cold?)

you've got a point maybe it hasn't ive just remembered i had a leak coming from it and my brother tightened it so maybe tightened to much
does anyone know if i could turn it myself without breakin anything lol

you take the little cap off and turn the spindle underneath, the spindle that is not the nut

small screw under cap on radvalve = old Pegler Belmont valve  .is it a grey colour and kind of mushroom shape cap ?.......the screw is the top of the valve spindle .........you could stop it dripping by opening it and putting a small amount of Fernox lsx inside the cap then replacing .....you may still be able to get replacement o rings for the valves if they are belmonts

well this prob with the 1 cold pipe was eventually fixed at the weekend,
it was the pin inside the temp valve that had jammed so it wasnt turning on so was just stuck at cold
