100mA rcd on a tt system re 17th edition

under the new regs I cannot see the need for a time delay 100mA rcd AS ALL CIRCUITS WILL HAVE 30mA RCD PROTECTION and therefore no real need for discrimination is this correct?

Possibly, depends how the other circuits are installed. However, a time delay RCD may not meet the required disconnection times.

Certainly your sockets and any circuit`s entering the bathroom will have to be RCD protected to 30mA BUT if you have a lighting or other circuit that is surface mounted then because of ADS time`s not likely to be met then those circuits will have to be RCD protected to the tune of 100mA type S to offer disscrmination between the 30mA and the 100mA.

Or feed the RCDs independantly from a main switch so they do not need to discriminate?
A BSEN 61008 type S RCD can disconnect from 130 - 500ms, max time permitted by BS7671:2008 for TT systems @ 230v in table 41.1 is 200ms.
