10mm Cabling issue

Hi All,

Newbie here - sorry if im posting to the wrong section?

I wonder if I could ask for some wisdom please - I have an electrical issue that I cant get my head around...

I have the following installed (MK Brand)

45 AMP Breaker going through a 63AMP 30MA RCD

20 m run of 10mm cable to the cooker isolator

If no appliances are attached to the isolator everything is fine - light is illuminated on the isolator switch and it all remains live.

As soon as an appliance is attached and turned on, it will trip the RCD. Many different appliances have been connected to confirm it is not related to one faulty appliance.

Could it be the cable length is too great for the RCD / possible faulty RCD?

Regards

Chris

This should be in the UK Electrical Section

Almost certainly incorrectly wired

Probably the Neutral of the cable is in the wrong Neutral bar in the CU

Both Live and Neutral have to go through the RCD, if only the Live goes through then any load above 30 milli amps will trip the RCD

You should have employed someone who knew what they were doing to install the CU and the cable
