how much was it - warranty etc - I understand that you cna cut moulded plugs and still retain warranty - BUT not sure about TEMU sure they would be a problem
Personally I would cut it off and fit my own - rather be safe then a fire
I think I will decide if the fruit dryer is worth having first, may put the lot in the bin. If she had bought it, it could be returned, not sure when items given away though. But the plug is so clearly out of spec, at least everything is RCD protected.
which one do you have - the reviews are not good - and if she left plugged in, even though on RCD - what else will trip , when you are out ... reviews talk of melting trays
like you i get rid of all this rubbish when bought as cheap gifts, more trouble than worth - heating plates/dishes and loads of rubbish gadgets in the past , she trust my call a lot of the time - when i explain if tripped then the fridge and freezer will be all over the floor if out for a weekend etc

Replacing the plug does have a minimal risk that the "plug" supplied contains a PSU ( power supply unit ) or other electronic components to power an item with a voltage that is not 230 Volt
This has been my experience as well. Very likely the whole product is not fit for sale in the UK or EU, all too common with the likes of Temu, Aliexpress and similar.
Free gift from whom ?
If it was a business, need to tell them they've broken multiple laws - and they need to recall any others they've given away. If a family member or friend, I'd suggest they need to send it back and report the seller.
I took that as someone bought it from Temu, but I see now - a freeby from Temu.
They need telling it's dangerous junk - though I suspect they have a filter for that straight into the bit bucket.
