now that was a monster bike for it's time and boy could they go, one passed me on a motorway once pulling a trailer and he must have been doing a ton at least.
The Bonneville is sweet. As they say, there's no replacement for displacement, so a 900cc twin really makes it a nice bike to ride. I haven't had a go (I never took my full bike licence), but bro regularly rides 600 miles a week on it including his 30 miles-each-way daily commute... and he ENJOYS it! Comfy saddle.

This is one of the RC149 125cc 5-Cylinder DOHC racers. This bike could rev to 20,000 and the short stroke version redlined at 22,000 RPM. The top speed was around 145 mph.
