Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone else has come across this before. I went to a client to quote for a new boiler and the current system has two pumps on it. One on the flow and the other on the return.

Not seen this before and not sure how this set up works. The current boiler is a Baxi Solo 2 and the boiler and pumps are located on the ground floor of a 3 floors semi detached house.

Here is a photo. Ive heard of separate pumps for heating and hot water, but not on flow and return before. If I removed the pump from the return, is it likely to effect the flow??

Two pumps in series = (almost) double the head.

Two pumps in parallel = (almost) double the flow.

So yes, it will affect it. It's like changing a big pump to a smaller one.
