Hi!
We’ve recently bought a property and have 2 2 way gang switches for our hallway and landing lights.

Our landing light we can switch on upstairs, but not downstairs, and the hallway light does not switch on with either. Pre-2004 wiring, 110 year old house. Lights work everywhere else.

Have attached a picture of the wiring of the downstairs switch - we have now swapped the red/black in the L1/2. Upstairs matches exactly the same. Any ideas?

For a start -

Make sure that you have the red wire of the red, blue, yellow cable in the 'other' switch COMMON.

If not, post picture of other switch wiring.

There are other ways to wire two way switches, but the far switch in picture shows two wires in the L1 and L2 and one in Com so seems to be wired as shown, so the twin and earth go to the L1 and L2 at bottom on switch, does not matter which way around, and two wires of the triple and earth also go in with them, the third wire of the triple and earth goes into the top com terminal and must be same wire in same connection with the other switch of the pair.
