2004 VW GOLF 1.9 TDI 130

Hi guys

My golf has developed a small oil leak (3 or 4 drops) which is apparent when parking the car overnight.

The leak is from the drivers side and i'm thinking intercooler. I've heard that this is common and requires a new intercooler. I've not take it anywhere yet, so would like opinions please. There is no loss of power at the minute.

If the intercooler needs to be replaced, any recommendations on where to get one. Is it worth having any other related components checked?

You'll often find oil at the joints of the intercooler hoses on these.....in fact, if you disconnect the hoses its amazing how much oil actually comes out.
However, its not always a problem as the oil comes from crankcase breathers and the like.
Eventually the intercooler may clog a bit, but even then you don't always notice a drop in performance.
Radiator remanufacturers also do intercoolers, likewise most motor factors if you do intend to replace.
John :)
