The existing case with the 200w psu is a 1.6GHz P4 cpu PC.

Have been given a x64 Athlon 3200+ cpu and motherboard as freebie upgrade which is more than enough for my requirements.

Will the upgrade be too much for the 200w psu?

Total draw power 67W.

So probably, but depends on all the other gubbins connected, and probably not if it has a proper graphics card rather than using the motherboard GPU.

It has the following

80GB IDE
FDD
64MB AGP card
DVD/CD-RW drive
2GB PC3200
