We may well disagree with where he and his colleagues are sent in our name and we might be right or wrong. The bottom line is that he and his mates do it in good faith that our political masters might have some insight beyond our kneejerks. Getting behind them in my book means giving them the best equipment to do their jobs, good medical backup and good disability pensions for the wounded.
Not being guilt tripped into some phony two minute silence everytime one of them dies, and then forget about them till the next time.

A valid point. "We" do seem to have become a nation of self piteous populist anguish. Although we shouldn't go around wearing our hearts on our sleeves, there is an argument for dopping our caps momentarily at times as a mark of respect for our fallen fellow brethren.
