Help please! lights in the hallway working upstairs but not in the three bedrooms. All floor sockets work fine. I have a MK Sentry consumer unit. (no fuses in it) Have obviously checked that the switch for upstairs lights is up, which it is. Checked all ceiling light fittings and found that one had a dodgy light bulb fitting. The bulb wasn\\\'t catching properly and was at an angle. Could this be causing a short circuit, which could have blown all three lights? What should I do?

Unlikely to have 'blown' the lights if all the breakers are made.
More likely you have lost the feed from a light to the next in the chain.
If you are confident using a multimeter, you could check at the fittings but if not call a local electrician.

Thanks. Think I might need to call someone in. No idea how to use a multimeter.
Cheers, Jockie
