Good morning, i have been offered a log splitter for a great price but it runs on 3 phase 415 volt. How would i get that voltage from a domestic 240 volt supply?

Apologies if its a stupid question! Thankyou in advance.

You would need a single phase to three phase converter. There are various types, none of them particularly cheap.
There are some here,

but lots of others if you Google "single phase to three phase converter"
The cheapest and most convenient option if possible would be to fit a single phase motor, assuming you can get one to fit, and that it will develop enough torque for the job, as single phase motors generally have less torque than 3 phase motors.

Your other probelm will be how you might power the converter.

I'm guessing that you'll want to just plug it in to a 13amp socket? Your splitter may need much more grunt than that, hence the reason for a 3-phase supply.

What does the rating plate on the splitter say?

Far cheaper to buy a brand new single phase log splitter than a single phase to 3 phase converter!
