Hi

I am planning to change the wood railing of the balcony with the metal railing from deckorators.com. I need to anchor or install a 4x4 wood anchor to plain surface of the balcony. I am planning to use BC40Z Simpson strong-tie. Since it will be top tied with the 2x4 top railing I hope it will be ok for the uplift force and so.

Do you think I have any other option as I don\\\'t want to attach the post to fascia of balcony.

thanking you in advance.

I might be wrong, but I thought that a BC40Z was a pentode, used on early valve TV sets. Included a 24v heater coil that was inclined to fail.
