5 core induction hob cable (1.5mm?) to 10mm supplied cooker outlet

ebee, I think the hobs already come with the copper links fitted anyway in this case. And you remove them when 'on the continent'. Well some do.
I best look at the instructions at the start of this thread to check!

EDIT: The neutrals have a link. Lives don't
Yes I agree that some have links fitted or supplied and sometimes you might have the opportunity to use them as I have suggested but sometimes you might not be that lucky. Either way I just wanted to know if anybody was happier by ensuring both ends making the equivalent of a twice size Live conductor in any event by ensuring jointed.
Personally I do not think it would make much difference in the real world but I could understand somebody being rather cautious if they have experience of any split between the L to N of each compared to the other being not very near 50/50 - a 60/40 %age of total power split between the two might seem quite large if the total permissible or the total diversified load is a bit close to call on our "new" csa dimension we have created.

well they allow socket rings, so I don't see why they shouldn't allow this!

Much more likely to have an open wire on a socket ring

It would be classed as 'parallel feed' of 2 16A conductors which would be compliant, not 'ring circuit' which would require conductors rated at 20A
